Chrysalis is one of only two Los Angeles organizations selected to receive grant money from the Social Innovation Fund, administered by The Corporation for National and Community Service.

The selection was made by The Roberts Enterprise Development Fund (REDF), a San Francisco-based venture philanthropy organization that invests in nonprofit-run businesses called “social enterprises.”

REDF’s goal is to put 2,500 people in social enterprise jobs in California by 2015 and develop a replicable and sustainable social enterprise model that can eventually be scaled nationally.

Their belief in Chrysalis’ power to make a difference will translate into an expansion of Chrysalis’¬†transitional jobs program, Chrysalis Enterprises, providing a valuable first step toward long-term self sufficiency.
